CHEF’s PLACE
Passion, Excellence and Desire
A passion for excellence and desire to succeed were the two motivating factors that largely influenced Executive Chef Shannon Davis to pursue a career as a professional Chef. Interested in all aspects of the culinary art, Chef Shannon brings over 20 years of experience. He completed his formal culinary training at the highly acclaimed Johnson & Wales University. Upon completion of his training, he interned at the Callaway Gardens Resort located in the picturesque surroundings of Pine Mountain, Georgia. While serving at Callaway Gardens, Chef Shannon perfected his skill and creativity in the areas of fine dining, buffet service, banquets, and baking. He is a member of the ACF (American Culinary Federation), WACS (World Association of Chefs Societies) and Virginia Chefs Association Inc. Also, he has been featured on Virginia This Morning Show twice.
His attention to detail and flair for the extraordinary was developed under the tutelage of the renowned Chef Hans Schadler during his tenure at the five-star Williamsburg Inn. As Food Service Director for two of the largest food service providers in the world, Chef Shannon has opened 7 international food courts and gained invaluable experience in both the operations and food service arenas. He is proficient in the areas of budgeting, forecasting, accounts payable, menu planning, and marketing.
With such a diverse background in the culinary arts, it may be surprising to know that Chef Shannon’s excitement and commitment does not compare to his passion for the family. He is married to his best friend, Trina Davis and together they share 5 wonderful children.
